About the builder:   I started collecting Matchbox cars and trucks in the 60's back then they cost 50 cents that was half of my weekly allowance.

My collection is mainly focused on farm and construction toys, the trucks i have are also farm and construction related.About six years ago I started

making some small buildings to display my toys. This has grown into building larger dioramas. Most of my buildings are older style, rough lumber construction. After i started to make my own lumber I decided I needed a sawmill to tie into my other building projects.

"Building the Mill"

I started with an O scale kit, that I bought mainly for the machinery.

I used the base for the mill from the kit, after that every thing was scratch built.  Base from kit.

Starting to install machinery.

The kit came with steam boiler power, I wanted something more modern, so I  used a multi scale Cat power unit

I cut the end off of an electric motor for the clutch assembly.

I built the back wall, attached it to the base, then added the rest of the framing.

The siding is individual random with boards. the roof is HO scale metal roofing
